About

I am a struggling freelance photographer and a single mom who is trying to start her own photography business. My whole world revolves around my child, my family, my friends, my country, and OUR Troops. God Bless each and everyone of you. Stay safe and return home to your loved ones.

I have been involved with photography in one way or another for 18 years. I was introduced to photography when I was 15 years old by my high school art teacher. She showed me a photo taken by Ansel Adams… my favorite photographer to this day, and I have been drawn to photography ever since.

I have 7 years of photography training. Mostly in 35mm black and white, however, I was also trained in color as well as dark room developing techniques. I have multiple awards for my work with photography… contests as well as achievement awards. I won two scholarships to the college of my choice for my work in photography. I was headed for a stellar career as a photojournalist and had even worked in the field briefly before being side tracked.

About 10 yrs ago I became pregnant and my priorities changed from my obsession with photography and producing the best photo; to being the best parent that I could be. I flipped the switch and went forth into the light from the red haze of my darkroom. I locked my darkroom door, afraid that the chemicals that I used to develop my photos would harm my daughter. I turned my once obsession into a passing hobby and focused myself on being a mom.

Now, my daughter…my bright shining star, my light in the darkness, has guided me back to my calling…my passion… showing the people of the world how I view it. Her growing interest in photography has led me back to where I belong… though I have to admit, I am now outdated… all my previous training, is now considered old school. My dark room has been turned into a storage room and my enlargers are being used as hangers. But it all matters naught… this is the digital age and I must re-learn techniques, gather my talent, and re-enter the new photography world.

I have to admit that I really like digital. My laptop has become my dark room and I now share my passion with my greatest love… my child. I am reaching for my dreams and when I finally grab onto them… I am going to bring them into my reality. This is me… this is who I am. I am a mom. I am a photographer.
